Suzanne B. Laporte, Executive Director
Suzanne joined Compass in 2007. She has extensive experience in consulting, marketing, writing, publishing, fundraising, and nonprofit management. Before joining Compass as Executive Director, Suzanne worked as an independent marketing consultant whose clients included American University. She also spent several years as a marketing writer and editor in the public sector consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, which subsequently was acquired by IBM. Suzanne also spent several years in the publishing industry as an editor at Working Woman magazine and as a marketing director for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a large daily newspaper in Texas. Suzanne received her MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from Smith College. She has served on the Board of several area schools, and is currently on the board of Stone Soup Films. Through Compass, Suzanne volunteered on the Helen Hayes Awards project and The Washington Ballet project.
GEORGIA KATINAS, ASSOCIATE PROGRAM MANAGER
Georgia joined Compass in 2010. She helps with Compass’ external communications including social media, meetings and event, and volunteer interaction, as well as supporting Compass’ Micro Projects. Georgia graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010. She double majored in English and Political Science, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She participated in Alternative Spring Break, a volunteer program through the school, and held numerous leadership roles in the Outing Club and Freshmen Orientation programs. Through Compass, Georgia volunteered on the Friends of the National Arboretum project. She continues to volunteer for the Arboretum’s Youth Garden. Georgia is currently the Deputy Project Leader for Compass’ Accokeek Foundation project.
